The role of the right Volleyball Court at camp

With Volleyball season right round the corner, it is no surprise that many people want their kids to join a Volleyball Club and enroll in volleyball camps that will ensure that the kids have a wonderful time playing the game they love. However, choosing the right Volleyball Camp can be an important decision. While you may think that all Volleyball camps are pretty much the same, this isn’t true. A good camp will not only have an excellent Volleyball Court to fit several players at a time, it will also have facilities for both indoor volleyball and outdoor volleyball.

The Volleyball Court dimensions for both indoor volleyball and outdoor volleyball differ a lot. A good camp will offer your kid the opportunity to play both games and provide both courts. However, if your child is preparing to play Volleyball seriously, keep in mind that you choose a camp where the Volleyball Court dimensions for competitive volleyball are strictly followed. The Volleyball Court dimensions for indoor volleyball are 18 meters by 9 meters. The court is divided in two by a high net. The beach Volleyball Court or outdoor court is 16 meters by 8 meters. All lines on the Volleyball Court are 2” wide and the court has 2 sidelines and 2 end lines that define the Playing area. Other lines are marked within the space.

Volleyball court dimensions and design

Volley ball is one interesting game which is played world over. The game created by a YMCA physical director, Mr. William G Morgan as a pastime is today is quite famous and an Olympic team sport. The game has some of the characteristics of tennis and some of handball. In those days it was called “ Mintonette”. Though it was initially designed as an indoor game, it is now more famous as an outdoor game or a beach game. However, there are certain rules for the game and strictly needs to be played in a “court” and has certain dimensions.

The Volleyball Court dimensions are strictly followed in any formal volley ball game. The dimensions of an indoor Volleyball Court and an outdoor Court are different. The dimensions of an indoor Volleyball Court which is rectangular in shape are 18 meters by 9 meters or 59 feet by 29 feet 6 inches. The court is divided into two equal halves by a center line. A beach Volleyball Court measures 16 meters by 8 meters.
